Rise and Shine

You’ve probably heard the phrases, “Clean and Green,” and “Sunny Side Up.” How do certain sayings and phrases fit into your chiropractic office and uplift your patients?
Let us first take a look at what chiropractic is and what it affords your people that visit you at your office. Chiropractic is the application of a methodology called an adjustment, which removes interferences within a person’s nervous system as to allow that person to experience enhanced performance at every level of existence.
When they come in subluxated, their performance is diminished in all areas of life. Their minds are so busy and cluttered, they are unable to “Think Straight.” Their precious brains are firing signals to various areas of the body, which are too fast, too slow, not being received at all, and so on.
What is the intention behind your adjustments? I have come across and heard of chiropractors who do not even adjust at all! For those that still do, are you attempting to get them out of pain? Are you luring them into a false package of hope claiming to be a diagnostician magician who will cure them of their ailments? If so, your lifetime filled with frustration and discontent will continue, as will theirs.
My last article published in this Chiropractic Journal touched on the birth of Chiropractic As A Pill. Our duties as chiropractors are much more than disguising medicine with a chiropractic mask. We have traveled as a profession so far down the dark path of treatment, disease, and diagnosis, that some principled revolutionaries within chiropractic feel it may be dark enough that if we collectively do a 180° turn, there may be no light to find our way back.
I say there is no need to turn around and head back. Right from where you stand, no matter how far down the medical model you have traveled, rise up and start adjusting your people because you know they are better off without the interference than with it and for that reason alone. The brain and body know what to do when there is no interference within. Let them know the adjustment is enhancing their internal performance on all levels and that everything in their life that they and their family enjoy will be better off.
This never started out to have anything to do with pain treatment and it still does not. Perhaps, the profession itself is experiencing the exact thing its practitioners are supposed to be removing – the subluxation. It’s possible that the time has come that those within chiropractic who enjoy practicing everything except that, start to call themselves something else or even become indoctrinated into medicine the same way the Osteopaths did in the late 1800’s.
Many who read this will say, “Who is this guy to accuse and say such things?” I say to you, I am a chiropractor who is committed to removing interference for the sake of removing interference. I am a visionary who is a lover of truth and all that is just in our world. I declare it time to take chiropractic out of the pain and treatment era and into the chiropractic era!
For you, it may be as simple as saying, “Rise and Shine,” the next time you are through with an adjustment and helping someone off the adjusting bench.

Smile Chiropractic as a Philosophy

I really like what Chiro Dave says above. I see it as looking at chiropractic as a philosophy compared to just another modality. Chiropractic has a rich history, and the removal of subluxations is a part of that. It is not about “treating” a specific pain, disorder, or dis-ease. Chiropractic is a philosophy that allows one to live better, feel better, and function from a place of wholeness and presence…

From the words of BJ Palmer:

“A Chiropractor doesn’t TREAT anything. He ADJUSTS cause of dis-ease…The fundamental Basis of Chiropractic…[is the] restoration of currents by adjusting spinal buttons and opening windows…”

“To adjust the subluxation, then, is to advance mankind, step up his efficiency, increase his ability, make him more natural and more at peace within himself; for all things are possible to him whose body equals his innate.”

So, to everyone: Rise and Shine.

It's all good

Quality of life is important and chiropractic philosophy along with the adjustments definitely improve it. Sometimes it takes time. Just remember that and be patient. You will be helped.

It is a little too convenient that while chiropractors believe the body has the innate ability to heal itself, that gift doesn't extend to the backbone. For many chiropractors, it takes God to heal the body, but chiropractic to heal the spine.—Source unknown.
