Life lays off 50
About 50 employees of Life University were told Wednesday they will lose their jobs, most of them employed in the public relations and athletics departments. The layoff will allow the university to cut $6 million from its budget, an action made necessary by declining enrollment, said interim President Michael Schmidt. The employees will receive job counseling and severance based on their years of service. The university has struggled to retain students since losing accreditation of its chiropractic program.
